Kevin is an associate in the firm’s Corporate and Public Finance Group. His business law practice involves serving as bond counsel or underwriter’s counsel on tax-exempt and taxable bond financings for government, healthcare, educational and private sector borrowers; serving as lender's or borrower's counsel on loan, credit facility and liquidity facility transactions; serving as company counsel on mergers, acquisitions, financings and other commercial transactions; and providing general advice on organizational, contractual and regulatory matters.

  • Served as bond counsel to Virginia localities in connection with general obligation, revenue and "subject to appropriation" bond issuances to finance water and sewer projects, public schools, local government buildings and public infrastructure
  • Represented continuing care retirement community and served as bond counsel in $20 million private placement of tax-exempt bonds
  • Served as bond counsel in $200 million refinancing and $300 million new issue of bonds issued by a major regional hospital system
  • Represented statewide-focused Industrial Development Authority in establishment of loan programs and issuances of bonds to fund loans to Virginia localities
  • Represented privately-held agricultural cooperative in corporate bond tender offer and new issue of bonds
  • Represented lender in $500 million credit facility for international private equity fund
  • Negotiated series of acquisitions by a media company of web-based advertising ventures, including sites displaying franchise opportunities listings, commercial real estate listings and job postings targeted to former military personnel
  • Represented partner in split-up of large publishing company joint venture, in which the venture’s assets were divided and the partners entered into ongoing service agreements and established a jointly-owned printing company
  • Coordinated closing of Series B round and subsequent $25 million sale of healthcare technologies company
