    Corporate Records Clerk

    The Norfolk office of Kaufman & Canoles is seeking a Corporate Records Clerk. Candidates should be proficient in Microsoft Office 365, have excellent communication and writing skills, exhibit meticulous attention to detail, and possess thorough proofreading skills. The position requires someone who is able to work well as part of a three-person team and who can also stay motivated while working independently.

    Responsibilities:

    • Preparation of annual consents and annual reports.
    • Maintain corporate minute books.
    • Poll the attorneys for information in connection with yearly audits for clients.
    • Preparation of audit letters.
    • Respond to requests for information.

    Qualifications:

    • Related experience necessary to gain an understanding of law office environment, policies and
      procedures are preferred, but not required.
    • High school diploma or equivalent required.
    • Exceptional organizational skills, strong ability to multi-task and attention to detail.
    • Ability to work successfully within a team environment.

    Part Time Norfolk Receptionist

    The Norfolk office of Kaufman & Canoles is seeking a Part-Time Receptionist. The receptionist provides general office support with a variety of administrative and related tasks. Must maintain positive contact with attorneys, support staff and clients; observes confidentiality of client and firm matters. Candidates should be proficient in Microsoft Office, have excellent communication and writing skills and exhibit attention to detail.

    RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Interacts with the clients via telephone, email and in person.
    • Operates standard office equipment, including personal computer, copier, scanner, and telephone.
    • Reviews, sorts and dates mail.
    • Arranges and schedules client appointments using reservation system. 
    • Assists in the preparing for and setting up meetings.
    • Cleaning and inventory of kitchen areas, conference rooms and supply areas.
    • Coordinates catering orders and pays monthly catering house accounts.
    • Assist in light typing, filing and making copies for attorneys.
    • Performs a variety of other administrative tasks as assigned.

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Legal industry experience preferred.
    • High school diploma or equivalent required.

    Responsibilities:

    3. Participate in pretrial and trial hearings.
    4. Prepare attorneys and clients for trials and depositions. The candidate should be skilled in meeting with clients and conducting client and witness interviews.

    Required Skills:
