We represent a variety of companies with hazardous waste and Superfund matters in multiple states or around the country, and the person we seek will have an established, self-sustaining practice that can be blended with ours and supported from our Chesapeake, Hampton, Newport News, Norfolk, Richmond, Virginia Beach or Williamsburg offices. The Kaufman & Canoles Norfolk office is seeking a full-time File Clerk who will provide clerical and administrative support to attorneys and staff.  Candidates must be self-motivated with the ability to work independently and prioritize multiple tasks with accuracy.  Excellent communication skills and meticulous attention to detail are essential.  Must be able to push, pull, lift, and carry objects weighing up to 20 lbs. and have the ability to retrieve and replace objects from shelves up to eight feet high.  Candidates must possess a high school diploma or equivalent and proficiency in Microsoft Office 2010.

The downtown Norfolk office of Kaufman & Canoles has a Human Resources Internship available. This is a part-time, paid opportunity that requires 24 hours of work per week. The Human Resources Intern provides direct administrative support to the HR Department in day-to-day functions. Candidates should be currently enrolled in an undergraduate degree program, majoring in Human Resources Management or another business-related discipline. Minimum of one year’s experience in a professional office setting preferred. Must possess exceptional interpersonal and communication skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office 2010. Strong organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail required.

Kaufman & Canoles Virginia Beach office is seeking a Real Estate Finance Assistant to conduct real estate closings for residential purchases, refinances, construction loans, loan modifications, and sale transactions.  Must possess in-depth knowledge of and experience with the closing process, funding loans, and examining title commitments.  Exceptional verbal and written communication skills and the ability to exercise a high degree of confidentiality and discretion are required.  Must have a high school diploma or equivalent and proficiency in SoftPro (Proforms) and Microsoft Office 2010.
