Environmental Law Attorney

Kaufman & Canoles seeks a lateral partner to join our thriving environmental practice group. We represent a variety of companies with hazardous waste and Superfund matters in multiple states or around the country, and the person we seek will have an established, self-sustaining practice that can be blended with ours and supported from our office in Virginia’s historic Williamsburg area. Accounting Supervisor

Kaufman & Canoles is seeking a qualified Accounting Supervisor for the downtown Norfolk office. The Accounting Supervisor will oversee the day-to-day operations of the Accounting Department and the financial functions of the firm's satellite offices. Candidates must have a minimum of five years' professional accounting office experience and the ability to work well under pressure and problem solve in a fast-paced environment while meeting tight deadlines. Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or other closely related field is preferred. Demonstrated advanced accounting skills and excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office are required. Must possess a meticulous attention to detail and a positive credit standing.

Legal Assistant

The Williamsburg office of Kaufman & Canoles seeks a qualified Legal Assistant to support its litigation attorneys. Candidates must possess a minimum of three years' relevant work experience and the ability to maintain strict confidentiality of client and firm matters. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are essential. Must have the ability to organize and prioritize competing responsibilities and work well under stiff time constraints. Demonstrated working knowledge of Microsoft Office 2010 and document management software required. Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
