Why the One Year Delay in the ACA

July 31, 2013

The July 2nd announcement of a 1 year delay in the effective date of the ACA employer mandate may cause some employers to mistakenly delay addressing the real Obamacare issue confronting all employers: how do I balance the competing objectives of avoiding penalties with providing my lower income employees the opportunity to obtain heavily subsidized insurance in the new health insurance marketplace?

At this point the October 1, 2013 beginning date for the first open enrollment period in the health insurance marketplace and the January 1, 2014 effective date for marketplace coverage and subsidies have NOT been delayed.

Employers who fail to address the real Obamacare issue by January 1, 2014 will likely be placed in a very difficult position when they renew their coverage for 2015. Please join us for a complimentary webinar to address the issues and provide guidance for both large and small employers.
