Kaufman & Canoles Names Winthrop A. Short, Jr. Managing Partner of Newport News Office

HAMPTON ROADS, VA - February 2008 - Kaufman & Canoles is pleased to announce that WINTHROP A. SHORT, JR. has been appointed the Managing Partner of the firm's Newport News office, effective January 1, 2008. He succeeds JAMES L. WINDSOR , who has held that position since 1995 and who completed his term at year-end.

A member of the firm since 1980, Short will maintain his active practice representing clients in civil litigation, including suits concerning real estate and title issues, corporate and contract issues, banking and lending, and trusts and estates. Having helped Kaufman & Canoles’ Newport News office grow to become one of the largest law offices in the Peninsula, Windsor will remain active in firm management as a member of the firm’s Executive Committee.
