Kaufman & Canoles Elects William R. Van Buren III Chairman
HAMPTON ROADS, VA - FEBRUARY 2008 - Kaufman & Canoles is pleased to announce that WILLIAM R. VAN BUREN was elected the next Chairman of its Executive Committee and President of the law firm effective April 1, 2008.
The election of Van Buren as the new Chairman follows GUS J. JAMES' decision to step down after serving as chairman for 16 years.
'It has been my privilege to serve as Chairman of the firm while it has grown and prospered. In the last 10 years we have opened four offices and added more than 50 lawyers. I am delighted that Bill Van Buren is to be our new Chairman and am confident that the firm will grow and reach new heights of success under his leadership.' said James.

Bill Van Buren, together with the other members of the Executive Committee, are charged with the management of the Firm, including overseeing Firm standards for client management, the quality of legal services, professional development, and civic responsibility.
