ACOs will allow physician groups to contract with Medicare to manage a large population of patients. Under a Medicare demonstration project, ten physician groups participating in this project shared over $31,000,000 in savings in the fourth year of such projects alone. With reduced reimbursements facing all of our medical group clients, participation in ACOs may be a major source of income for them and other allied Medicare providers in the future.
